It’s Earth month and if you’re looking for a fun Earth Day game for your students in the classroom, this Earth Day bingo for preschoolers was made for you!
I was looking for an easy game to play during Earth month for younger students so I created this classic bingo game which is perfect for Pre-K to 3rd grade students!
I love using a bingo game in the classroom because it can be a fun and educational way to engage students in learning about environmental issues and promoting sustainability. These bingo cards were designed specifically for younger kids and focus more on pictures than text.
The pictures on each bingo can be used as a great topic of discussion for Earth Day! You can use these images to share information about why these items are important to the Earth, the impact these items have on the Earth, and/or ways we can help or harm the planet.

Earth Day takes place on April 22nd! In the midst of class parties and lesson plans, take a few minutes to use an Earth Day bingo set as a fun activity to celebrate Earth Day.
Here is how I like to prepare for the bingo game. Ideally, you only have to do most of these steps once and then you can reuse them over and over again each year:
- Print out the bingo calling cards.
- Laminate and cut the bingo calling cards.
- Add the calling cards to a basket or bin.
- Print out the bingo cards. I’ve created 30 unique cards.
- Laminate the bingo cards.
- Give students bingo markers for their bingo cards.
Keep in mind you can also use white cardstock on these bingo cards so they can hold up a bit better!
I love making DIY bingo markers with my students! It’s another way to incorporate Earth Day fun into the classroom. Your students can make their bingo markers as the first part of the activity and then use those bingo markers to play the game.
Here are some ideas for DIY bingo markers:
- Recycle bottle caps from plastic bottles and decorate them. Use markers or paint or glue small pieces of items on the bottle caps.
- Cut out paper circles (or any shape!) from recycled paper or cardboard. The students can decorate the circles with markers, crayons, or paint!
- Go on a nature walk and collect small rocks, leaves, or gumballs to use as markers. You can always decide to paint these rocks as well!
- Use felt shapes and incorporate a shape discussion.
- Use different shapes (or colors) of pasta! This is my son’s personal favorite. We then use the pasta for a sensory bin!
- Use soda tabs or pop tabs
Encourage students to bring in recyclable materials from home to use in the creation of their markers. This will help reiterate the concept of recycling and reusing materials.
If you don’t have time (or patience) for DIY bingo markers, here are some other ideas:
- Dry erase markers for the laminated sheets
- Dot markers for unlaminated sheets
- Large marbles
- Mini animals
- Bingo chips with magnetic wand
- Pom Poms (grab them from dollar tree)
- Individual Packs of Gummy Bears (I get them cheaper on Amazon than Target)
