Are you looking for a way to support Black-owned brands on Amazon? An incredible way to celebrate Black History Month is by supporting Black-owned businesses and creators. According to research, Black people make up 14% of the United States population, but only 2.3% of employer businesses (source). In addition, Black-owned businesses were more affected by the pandemic than any other race.
I’ve listed a range of products from books and food to beauty. I hope there is something on this list for you and your family to incorporate into your life!
This post is all about 9 Black-owned brands you need to try on Amazon.
1. Hair Love
We received this book as a baby shower gift for our youngest daughter. This book is a family favorite because it talks about natural hair in a fun and relatable way. This book is not only great for Black boys and girls, but also for children of other races. Teaching your child about other races and cultures helps to expose them early to things they will see from other children and in their classrooms – like natural hair.
2. TGIN
Speaking of hair, Thank God It’s Natural, or TGIN has an incredible natural hair care line. Although there are a lot of natural hairlines, I only consider a few of my personal favorites. This is one. Their twist and define cream is so great for curls – it is thick and incredibly moisturizing. Check out this Black-owned brand on Amazon here:
3. Capital City Mambo Sauce
If you or your spouse enjoy grilled food for the barbeque, this is a black-owned brand you need to try! My husband has an unhealthy obsession with barbeque sauce. Seriously, we always have a bottle open in our house and at least one on standby. When looking at Black-owned brands on Amazon, I found this suace. I gave my husband some of this sauce as a Valentine’s Day gift this month and WOW! This sauce is delicious! It’s sweet and light enough that it doesn’t overpower the food, but also bold enough to pack a flavor punch.
4. Tia Mowry Cookware
Did you know Tia Mowry had cookware?! Well if you didn’t, now is your chance to support this Black-owned brand on Amazon! Tia Mowry’s cookware line is nonstick ceramic which is much better than traditional Teflon and nonstick coating. These chemicals are toxic, harmful, and never go away.
5. PiperWai Deodorant and Soaps
Vegan and eco-friendly packaged deodorant and soaps – yes and yes! Choosing eco friendly products is incredibly important to protecting the planet. Most often, choosing eco friendly products often means choosing healthier products as well. This is the case with Piper Wai deodorants and soaps! The body wash comes in aluminum packaging which is 100% recyclable indefinitely. In comparison, only 9% of plastic is actually recycled and each time it is recycled the quality decreases.
6. Blk & Bold Coffee
Do you love a fresh cup of coffee in the morning? Coffee is one of my favorite things – ever. Having delicious coffee I can make at home helps me save money and reduces waste because I’m not using single-use coffees cups. 8. Buttah Skincare
Have you ever heard the phrase “smooth like buttah?” This is it! This line of skincare is nothing but love for your body and skin, from head to toe. Not only does this skincare have my body glowing, it also keeps my skin hydrated. This body care kit comes with three products. First, you use the Egyptian CocoShe Body wash to cleanse and soften. Next, use the Black Gold Polishing Bar for hydration, detoxifying, and polishing. Finally, use the Whipped Body Butter for a deep moisturizer with Vitamins A, B, and E.

12. Black Girl Magic Sleep Shirt With Pockets
